When you enquire or instruct us we may collect your name, contact details, information about your matter, identification documents required by anti-money-laundering law, and any correspondence with us. If you use our website we also collect basic technical information such as your IP address and pages visited.
How we use your information
We use your personal data to respond to your enquiry, provide legal advice and services, comply with our regulatory and legal obligations (including identity verification and record-keeping under money-laundering rules), manage our relationship with you, and improve our services. We rely on your consent, the performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests, and legal obligations as our lawful bases for processing.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with courts, barristers, experts, other solicitors and regulators where necessary for your matter, and with trusted service providers (such as IT and secure hosting suppliers) who act on our instructions under written agreements.
How long we keep it
We keep client files in line with SRA and professional-indemnity requirements, typically for at least six years after your matter closes, and longer where the law requires it.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability, subject to legal exceptions.
